V. neuronitis: Yes, the typical course of the symptoms is that it gradually goes away. With that condition, the initial episode of vertigo is the worst and over time the duration and frequency decreases. It can take weeks to a few months to fully resolve.

Neuritis: Consider a course of steroids for this condition like a medrol (methylprednisolone) dosepack
