It's unpredictable: "Tight cramps" due to uterine contractions, even if frequent or strong, may not necessarily cause your cervix to dilate and may continue on and off for days until labor actually begins at term. Unfortunately, since they can lead within hours to days to premature labor, seek advice ,guidance and close follow-up from your obstetrician who would want you to remain pregnant until at least 39 weeks .
