A member asked:

How do i know if my nose piercing is infected or if it is rejecting? i got it pierced six months ago and it has almost constantly had a tiny red bump

Red bump: This may not be an actual infection because of lack of pus drainage. It may be a chronic inflammation in view of the redness or a type of foreign body reaction. Leave the nose ring out, apply warm soaks and apply an antibacterial cream once daily. See your physician if redness persists, drainage develops or swelling worsens.
