See Dr.: Your pains could be arthritic related at your age. Inflammation of joints may cause pain when moving certain ways in your posterior hip area-referring the pain to your "buttock" area. See your Dr. to be sure and get a good evaluation and the proper diagnosis, so any treatment can occur. Best wishes.
