DO NOT!: Please do not self prescribe antibiotics! If under the care of a licensed dentist, he/she will know the right antibiotic, dosage and frequency for you. If you try to do it yourself, not only will it not resolve the abscess (which also requires elimination of the cause of infection) but it will come back with a vengeance and worse. Please go to and get treated by a competent dentist.

Cause of abscess?: Treat the cause of the abscess, the antibiotics are secondary to your total care.
