Don't test it.: It is not all that uncommon for heels to hurt in what can be described as sharp pain. The swelling and bruising put your condition in a very different light though. Until you have your heel examined professionally, it is probably best to stay off the foot. A lot can probably be gleaned from the history of the events leading up to the symptoms. An x-ray or possibly an mri may be necessary.
