A member asked:

I've had a functional ovarian cyst on left ovary that fluctuates in size between 2.5 and 3.5 cm with symptoms for 18 months that won't go away.

Tiny ovarian cyst: This ovarian cyst is only 1 to 1 1/2 inches in diameter, and I question that its' size is the source of your symptoms for 18 months. Have your GYN MD re-evaluate your symptoms and if necessary obtain a 2nd opinion.

Need surgery: If you've had that cyst for that amount of time then I think surgery is the best treatment for you. The cyst is both persistent and symptomatic. Laparoscopy is an outpatient surgery with very small incisions (minimally invasive) that can remove the cyst. You only miss work for 3-4 days.
