Trochanteric bursiti: You may simply have an inflammation of the bursal sac that overlies the side of the hip joint, your symptoms are typical. However, since you have an artificial hip you should take your symptoms seriously and get this checked out. If it is bursitis, often a steroid injection can be extremely helpful in alleviating your symptoms.
