Not normally: Not normally. Most extractions under IV sedation do not require intubation. Even if intubation is required in select cases, there are other medications that can be used to accomplish this safely.

NO: Succinylcholine is only used for general anesthesia or if there is an airway emergency. It is usually kept around and available for hte latter situation.
