A member asked:

Would mild skin burn raise crp to abnormal levels if blood were tested within a few hours of (mild) injury?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Why do you ask?: The CRP is neither sensitive nor specific for much of anything. It is one tiny piece of information and by itself means nothing. It is often high for no reason to reason. A burn does not involve the macrophage system that usually activates CRP and I would not expect a rise.
