Get 2nd opinion: The expected outcomes and goals for treatment should have been discussed with you prior to starting. Normally when any orthodontic treatment, Invisalign or conventional, is performed the dentist/orthodontist should have an idea of what the final results will be. In other words if gaps are to be expected then that is something that should be said so prior to starting treatment.

More info needed: Why is there a gap? Is there a discrepancy in tooth size? Do your teeth currently meet harmoniously, and closing the gap will cause problems? What was the explanation? There is no one correct answer. Discuss your concerns with your current dentist, and if you are still confused, seek the opinion of another orthodontist in your community.

I have questions: Ware yo treated by a Specialist Orthodontist or by a not as thoroughly trained/experienced Generalist? If by the latter, why did you opt for a less skilled practitioner? Where is the space? How big is it? Is it due to a tooth size discrepancy or malpositioned teeth/jaws? Did you wear your trays at least 22hrs/day every day? Was it explained that braces are more effective than trays?
