Get Details: The lisfranc joint often requires fusion using screws when the joint has been dislocated or is unstable. Get the details from your surgeon so you can make a good choice. The procedure is not new and many foot and ankle surgeons do this procedure on a regular basis.

NOT NEW: Fusion is not new. There are definitely two camps regarding screw repair vs. fusion. Depending upon the extent of the injury, fusion might be better. And, there is a certain percentage of people who had screw repair, who eventually need a fusion b/c of arthritis following the repair.
