Nope: 4 months post-op you should be relatively pain free with occassional swelling. You need to go back to your doctor and get new x-rays or an MRI as soon as possible. This may require further surgery or screw and plate removal. Good luck.

Likely normal: First - if you have questions, see your surgeon. Second - 4 months after a lisfranc fusion it is very common to have pain and swelling. An increase in pain often coincides with an increase in activity and weight bearing. Swelling persists easily for 6 months post op. While a non union is a possibility for the pain/swelling, routine x-rays are usually an acceptable test to assess for healing.
