See Your Doctor Now: There are numerous causes for skin blisters, such as Chickenpox, Shingles, Impetigo, and more. Shingles is painful however more information is needed such as duration, recent illness, past medical history, and more. Be aware that diagnosis of skin conditions is challenging without visual inspection. See your doctor now for examination to determine the correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

Shingles?: That sounds like it could be shingles. Are the fluid-filled bumps? How long have they been there? Have you ever had chicken pox, or were you vaccinated against them as a child?

Well, you are not: in the age group where we expect to see herpes zoster or shingles, but that might be what you have. It is difficult to say for sure without a picture (which you could upload to HealthTap for a Virtual Consult). Blistering rash with pain is the hallmark. Treatment is most effective when started within 3 days of seeing the rash: antiviral medicines (acyclovir, etc)/pain killers/topical antibiotics

Need evaluation: If you could possibly post a picture, that might be helpful. Unfortunately, skin conditions such as Your problem require someone to see and feel these lesions. Please see your doctor soon as possible.
