Vein bulge: Bulging veins are usually superficial and can be a phelbitis which needs antibiotics, but there is also concern since you are in the bed a lot that there is a deep vein clot( thrombosis) as your calf is tender and you are sedentary . Clots can move to the lung and compromise breathing . You need an ultrasound of your entire leg. Go to ER today .
