Needs evaluation: The question is 'why' you have thrush on your tongue, and 'is it even really thrush' - which is OFTEN misdiagnosed. Thrush, by itself, is relatively harmless -but it can be an indicator of more serious disease such as diabetes, lupus or immunologic disorder, or even HIV/AIDs. Usually thrush goes away with proper treatment- but sometimes the Candida albicans that's causing it, has some resistance.
