Generalized Anxiety: Disorder needs to be treated by a mental health professional. If you are offended medications that may be helpful but please do not stoop there. There are many very helpful treatments for GAD. These include psychotherapy, clinical hypnosis, biofeedback, etc. Please see www.asch.net for licensed professionals who use clinical hypnosis. Lifestyle & Meds: There are many different lifestyle changes that can improve anxiety. Dietary changes can include staying away from caffeine and other stimulants. Lifestyle changes that help overall anxiety and reoccurring bouts include exercising regularly and meditating daily. Medications that reduce anxiety can also help - consult with a psychiatrist or your primary care doctor to discuss risks and benefits.
