It could: Anxiety problems can lead to tension, trouble concentrating, and bodily arousal (high heart rate, blood pressure, sweating, digestive symptoms, poor sleep, etc). This could indeed make irritability more likely to recur. However, you should consider that a mood problem can also lead to this. So it's probably best to see a physician and then a mental health specialist if all is well physically.
