Can a ppi cause a dry/scratchy throat? 3 weeks ago was prescribed lansoprazole for acid rflx, and i get an awful dry throat 15-30 minutes after dose.

If it does, it does: If you have noted this association on more than one occasion, the answer then is yes- at least for you although this is not an expected reaction from PPIs.

I have acid relfux ( acid coming up). PPIs ( Prilosec, Nexium, and Prevacid) give dizziness and swelling in my throat. Doc won't put me on prescription. Zantac and Pepcid isn't strong enough. No h.pylori. Should I take ppi regardless of side effects?
