Maybe: 50,000 units twice a week sounds like a lot of vitamin D, for a person whose level is 45 (not a super low level). Such a patient can discussed with her doctor the dosing, to see if there is a reason her doctor wants her to rapidly increase her body's vitamin D, instead of using a more typical daily dose to maintain or gradually increase her vitamin D level.
