See your provider: Low hemoglobin (anemia) can be caused by many different reasons. If you truly had an iron test as opposed to cbc(more common) you may need iron, however before starting it is advisable to get other tests done, including TIBC and ferritin. Once it is confirmed it is truly fe deficiency then an appropriate dose will be 325mg iron sulfate 2x per day. Another reason would be find our why you are low.

Oral iron: You may take oral iron supplements available over the counter, 325 mg, 2-3 times/day, better with meals. Also take multivitamins. Have a healthy diet, exercise 30 minutes/day, drink plenty of water, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs. For nutrition: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/. Get HPV vaccine
