Gout and diet advice: The higher your uric acid, the greater your risk of developing gout. Beer, hard liquor, and organ meats such as liver are particularly bad for gout. You can find low purine diets on line, but a slightly high uric acid level probably isn't a big deal, unless you have a strong family history of gout or kidney stones.
