YES: There is no known immunity for Hepatitis C; however depending on Genotype and RNA PCR viral load can be treated and controlled with antiviral medication.

Yes: Recent studies show that reinfection after spontaneous clearance or treatment is possible. Studies in chimps showed resistance to reinfection but HCV is a human disease. What about the wife being treated and cured?http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3310282/
