YES: I would remove the ring since it is acting as a" FOREIGN BODY". GO BACK ON ANTIBIOTICS and STAY on them while you SOAK your ear with hot packs. Use an OTC antibacterial cream/ointment as well! If the wound is not getting better go to a Walk In Unit which should be able to help you obtain Insurance ("Affordable" Health Care Act) Hope this helps! Dr Z
