Lifestyle changes: Although your diastolic (lower) blood pressure is slightly elevated, you do not necessarily need to start meds now. First try lifestyle changes like limiting salt intake, aerobic exercise and weight loss. Limit intake of alcohol, decongestants and stimulants as these can increase BP. If you smoke, STOP.
