A member asked:

Is midodrine safe to take for someone with hypotension/autonomic dysfunction but also has lupus with no organ involvement?

Dr. answered

Midodrine safety: Hi CM335, midodrine is used for hypotension, especially in cases of autonomic dysfunction. Ask your doctor about interactions with your other meds. It is not known to cause lupus flairs. If you develop a rash, shakes, palpitations, weakness, dizziness, or shortness of breath see your doctor immediately. Although uncommon, can represent side effects of the medication. Hope thats helpful.
