Just a thought: but you may be describing radiculopathy (A PAIN FROM A PINCHED NERVE IN YOUR HUSBAND'S NECK"!!) Try HEAT on the back of his neck and check in with your PCP..a CERVICAL COLLAR (Drug Store OTC Item) may help!! Finally an evaluation with range of motion/neurologic testing may also be helpful!
