Worrisome problem: Fibroids are bundled muscle fibers in the wall of the uterus. They can impinge on the uterine space and force a fetus into a distorted position and make delivery difficult.Removing fibroids, depending on the size, can weaken the wall and make pregnancy risky. If removal occurs you could consider using a fertility center to harvest /fertilize your egg and hire a surrogate to carry the baby.

Consider myomectomy: A myomectomy removes the fibroids and spares the uterus. Depending on the location of the fibroids and their size, it may be possible to do this procedure as an outpatient with a scope or robotically. Their are other fertility considerations at 42 that are unrelated to the fibroids and almost always you will need a cesarean if you do conceive after a myomectomy.
