Varies: It depends on your age, the condition of your teeth and gingiva, and how well you maintain them at home. Some people need to be seen three and even four times a year for a professional cleaning, others only need to be seen twice. Discuss your needs with your dentist.

Depends on Risk: The truth is that for most people, even regular brushing/flossing is not enough to keep their mouths and teeth healthy. Science tells us that dental plaque--bacterial colonies which cause cavities & infections--is most aggressive & destructive at 90 days. So, ideally, everyone should get their teeth cleaned every 3 months. But, this is impractical, so most go every 6 months. Depends on your risk.
