Start With Exam: The nipple anatomy includes nerves; also muscle fibers that contract in response to various stimuli such as exposure to cold temperatures, tactile stimulation, hormones (oxytocin), and more. Occurs in both men and women. Some women have frequent erections and this is usually benign. See your doctor for exam and to discuss management. Padded bras and soft silicone nipple shields are very helpful.
