A member asked:

Fasting hgba1c 7/11/16 was 5.1%. nonfasting levels in 20012 and 2013 were just barely high. why would my dr. still diagnose me with hyperglycemia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hyperglycemia: If you are not checking your blood sugar regularly you must do so. Check blood sugar one morning and again next night. Your blood sugar should not be above 120 if possible. If it is you will need to see your doctor who will most likely prescribe Metformin. Please let me know how things go.
