A member asked:

What is a fat-containong lhernia with a knuckle of small bowel extending close to the margins of the hernia

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hernia: Hernias move and can change position usually, unless the intestine is trapped. The fat and the bowel are a connected structure. Your imaging studies shows that bowel and fat are able to pass into a location where they don't belong, and this is by definition a hernia. Hernias that cause pain, or are trapped, need surgical repair. See your surgeon.
