Overuse/minor trauma: Even if you didn't undergo a specific event that you'd consider an "injury" to the foot, it is still possible that some trauma has been caused to the foot. This can be a result of overuse over a long period of time, or small amounts of trauma to the muscles, joints, or other tissues that have added up to the point that you're now feeling pain in the foot. Be sure to give the foot some rest.
