A member asked:

What kind of damage can long term waist training cause and would it be permanent?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Corset issues...: Think of your body as a balloon like the long ones people make animals out of. If you squeeze and tighten one section, the stuff (air in a balloon, all sorts of stuff in a human) being squeezed must pop out in a different section of the balloon or the body. Where else would all the stuff go? Abdominal muscles are vital to supporting the back and abdomen. A corset interferes with abdominal muscles.
