Throat mucus: May be post nasal drip from allergies or reflux. consider trying Zyrtec once a day, and ranitidine which helps for reflux and allergies. Avoid spicy foods, smoking caffiene ( energy drinks) alcohol which exacerbates reflux. Also consider food allergy testing as food allergies especially milk can cause nasal congestion F/u w/ doc/ allergist

Virus: If you feel sick or have a sore throat, it is most likely to a viral infection which causes inflammation of the vocal cords and excess mucus. Cough it out during the day, get plenty of fluids and sleep. If is it early on, try Cold Eeze (see eyedoc2020@blogspot.com for details). It can take weeks(-months) to resolve if viral, but if have fever, consult with us or see PCP if worsening.
