This remains a: somewhat controversial topic. It is well-accepted that a person can get all the vitamins/minerals one needs from a well-balanced diet including generous fruits/ vegetables/whole grains. But few people actually eat that well. So a multiple vitamin can make up for anything you miss. Vitamin C may boost your immune system, but citrus fruit in diet is adequate; probiotics? ok if digestion works better
