Black tongue: Could be normal in dark skinned individuals however sudden changes could be due to infections; yeast, medications including antibiotics or inadequate oral hygiene & less commonly, due to other health conditions. Try brushing the area with soft bristle tooth brush / toothpaste at least twice daily, if persistent or if other assoc. symptoms, get him evaluated. Take care.
