My 7 month old had a dime size purple spot appear on top of his head. its under the skin and not raised. if he cries it gets darker purple. any ideas what it could be?

Hemangioma?: It sounds like this could be a hemangioma, a dilated blood vessel that would be more visible when there is more pressure in it, from crying for example. Most of the time these are not a problem but definitely keep an eye on it to be sure it doesn’t enlarge quickly or seem painful, definitely have Dr look at it next baby checkup (or before if concerned)
