I was told that i had a deep tissue bruise in my calf about 7 years ago. it feels pretty similar to a knot, no discoloration. is this normal?

Bruise: Bruises don't last 7 years, and neither do hematomas (blood collections). More likely there is a tear in the muscle which scarred. An MRI is needed to evaluate for other problems as well to image the soft tissues.
