My calf has been hurting for years. when i touch it feels like a big bruise but there is nothing. my muscle pulsates once a while also. what's wrong?

Superficial?: Does the pain occur with touching the skin or only when you push deeply into the muscle? If it is the skin and light pressure that elicits the pain you may have an abnormality in a superficial sensory nerve.
