Yes: Lets review the issue.The kid has allergies.There is a non-sedating medicine called Allegra (fexofenadine) that can help him function like someone without allergies .It is safe and effective with daily use year round. Other allergy meds can sedate, which like not treating can impair classroom performance. So yes, daily treatment is wise. People tried to avoid long term meds in the past because of side effects
