Long term: Allegra (fexofenadine) is a new generation, non-drowsy antihistamine with a good safety profile. In general antihistamines as a class have been around for decades and long term use has not been associated harmful side effects. Most clinical trials for safety are 1 year, but practically speaking, Allegra is safe for ongoing use.
