Hello iv just been given metronidazole to take 200mg 3 times a day for a gum infection. how would i know if i'm allergic to it?

Usually nobody knows if they are allergic to a drug until they start taking it. But allergy to metronidazole is uncommon, and when it happens, it's rarely severe. Just take the drug as prescribed and check back with your doctor if it seems to be causing any problems.
