Cellulitis: Return to either an urgent care or ER since the infection is worsening and is life threatening. Sometimes, the first antibiotic used is not specific to the type of bacteria causing the infection, and it may need to be changed. Your boyfriend may require IV antibiotics and even a hospital stay, since there is a risk of losing the foot due to infection. Go to ER now.
