See below: You may still have an infection or there could be a small nail spicule remaining. The pain could be from the trauma of the procedure.

Epsom salt soak: Try soaking your foot in warm water and epsom salt. Remove embedded debris from the nail borders, and apply an antibiotic ointment to temporarily soften the corners. If you have redness and drainage, have it looked at by a professional.
