Toe: Try to walk less. Elevate foot as much as possible. Soak in Epsom salts repeatedly. Dry well. You may need more antibiotic or toe nail adjustment. Digit infections are slow to resolve.

Visit again: If you are getting worse instead of better after 5 days of antibiotics, you should see your doctor again for re-evaluation.

Call your doctor: If after 5 days of the appropriate antibiotics your toe seems worse or if you have a fever, you should let your doctor know. You might need a different antibiotic or you might even need IV antibiotics. Try to keep your foot elevated to reduce swelling.
