A member asked:

Can you pass hpv from touching someone's skin? can i pass it to my toddler?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely: There seems to be a component of friction necessary to pass the virus from the infected source to someone. HPV are also very specific to the type of tissues they can attach to, Genital wart strains can be passed to a child during childbirth, if the mom is shedding germ at the time.It would only appear around genital skin or on the vocal cords. Transmission of non wart strains has not been reported
