You're probably safe: The ParaGard IUD is 99% effective, is believed to become very effective in reducing your risks of pregnancy very rapidly after it is inserted, probably within hours; since it can also be used as an EmergencyPostcoitalContraceptive, your risks of getting pregnant are probably very low, (less than 1%.) particularly if insertion was during menses. Adding a hormonal EPC like Plan B may not be needed
