FUGLY FOREVER: I think the nail growing area-the nail matrix-has been permanently damaged from trauma, giving you that appearance.

Sorry: to tell you that such toe nails never look "normal" again.. I would , if this is truly a "problem" consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon...there are ways to make the appearance less "fugly" Hope this helps! Dr Z

Take it.: You can always have the nail permanently removed. Many paint the "pseudo" nail that forms. Could be better to deal with. Ask a specialist that does nail surgery.
