Many side effects: Including effecting blood pressure, sugar, calcium, osteoporosis, cataracts, adrenal suppression, infections, etc. Steroids have more side effects than Imuran or remicade, (infliximab) or most other medications used for crohn's. It is very important, however, not to stop Prednisone abruptly. This can be dangerous. It must've tapered very slowly. Discuss this and other alternatives with your doctor.
